β€œLet me know when you have 99 followers and I’ll follow your blog”, he said. And he did.

I’d like to introduce you to my husband and the 100th follower of my blog, Geoff. Behind every great woman is a great cat, but behind every great cat is a man working hard to buy cat food. My Geoff is that man!

Why was he not the first person to follow me? Because he sucks at technology and there seemed little point when he was already proofreading everything I wrote. Without him I could potentially blog complete rubbish and send embarrassingly bad articles to magazine editors.

We met almost 18 years ago in Dunedin, New Zealand (just around the corner from Antarctica). I was studying and living in a cold, mouldy flat. Geoff had a fireplace, spa pool, and did contract work at the Cadbury’s chocolate factory, so had an inexhaustible supply of chocolate. Why I held out a year and a half, I’ll never know!!

This man is my rock – the only thing that keeps my feet on the ground sometimes. Us flighty Pisceans need someone to come home to and rely on. He is also the father of my kittens, the cutter of kindling, and a wonderful kitchen hand. Ladies, he even cleans toilets!

I just wanted you all to know that this blog is in fact a team effort and that this lovely man is in the background keeping me warm and loved, and vetting everything you read before I embarrass myself πŸ’–

  1. Awwww, heart in throat. You are one very fortunate woman, Wendy. And your husband in my opinion, is one very fortunate man. How awesome to have a solid connection as you two have. What I would do FYI for an editor! I proofread all my work! 🌟🌟🌟

  2. Congrats on Mr. 100 and on 100 followers, Wendy. I agree, a great partner is an asset in life. My wife reads all my blogs, usually after I post and catches things I don’t. She is also the one behind the camera from time to time and certainly when I am in the pic. Like most seniors, I am useless at selfies. Here is to the next 100. Allan

    • Awww, thank you 😁 I totally agree. You don’t have to give the same things to a relationship, but you have to give what you can πŸ˜€

  6. Great catch! I thought I did well when I snagged my husband, also a Jeff, because he didn’t like chocolate. That meant more chocolate for me and no need to feel guilty about not sharing. But you, you found a guy who worked at a chocolate factory?!?! That is brilliantly played, hats off to you!!!

    • LMAO! πŸ˜‚ Must be something in the name. My Dad was also a Geoff!! Personally, I like YOUR strategy. I didn’t find out till after I got married that somewhere in the fine print there is a requirement to share chocolate, or at least that’s what he told me… πŸ™„

  7. Hi you two such a beautiful couple. πŸ™‚ Is Mr.100 going to leave a comment to? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ My husband don’t proof read my content, but he does review my videos before publishing. He suggests what changes to do. πŸ™‚
