Play Me Like a Violin

There are times in our lives when we get taken advantage of, or “played”.

Sometimes it is by people close to us, who know exactly what buttons to push. Other times it is by people who are simply mentally stronger. Often it is by people who have something you need or want.

All of these instances have one thing in common: POWER!

As a woman, I find that power is easily lost, or taken. It is the nature of the game. It doesn’t matter how many “big brother” types you have surrounding or protecting you, at the end of the day, it’s just you against the world.

There comes a point in these situations where the veils part and you can see it for what it really is: you are being played like a violin and you are letting them do it.

This moment of clarity is the time for you to stand in your own power and come out fighting. Don’t feel like you need to be polite about it. Forget what they tell you about how “nice” women act. I give you permission to use your teeth and claws if you have to.

I only have one thing to say to those in my life who have tried to take my power away…

I’m taking my violin back now, thank you!

  1. Yes, I think we all feel this one. Just to be successful as a writer, you have to let too many people take advantage of you alone. Not to mention the too many times outside of that it happens. This is a great post.

      • Yeah, it really is. I mean for the writer, we spend hours, months, years creating our work, and then have to give them up and be happy with 10% of the money they make. It’s so wrong. Even self-publishing with Amazon gives them the power you still only make 2-3% of the money it takes. It’s so wrong.

      • I suppose it would be great to write to make lots of money, but ultimately I suppose I write to fulfil my own need to express my ideas to others. My ultimate joy is to know that someone has enjoyed my work, found it useful/helpful, or changed the way they think/act as a result. I suppose the feelings I get from this are priceless and makes me feel powerful as well – I would rather write for little return, than NOT write.
I suppose as writers we need to have faith that ultimately what we put out into the world will come back to us. That is the practice 💖💖💖

  2. I always stay away from people who think the only good relationship is one where they are n control and they have to exert their power to feed their tiny egos. As a man, I am embarrassed by some of the S— that other men do. Women (and men) need to take their power back and send these yahoos packing. Besides, power is only power when you share it. Electrical outlets have power but they do nothing until they share it with a lamp or a radio……….. Thanks for putting this out there Wendy. Allan

  3. I know many say I got your back or got you …

The truth is many will offer testament of valour but when it comes down to the crunch and you are in crisis, You truly find out who is real and who are spineless, gutless pathetic sheep.

Decide are you wolf or sheep and you’re either born one or the other I know what I am “those that bitch n complain take everything for granted fail to realized its because of wolves the Alphas that you are able to take breath into your lungs . The decisions we make there is always recoil effect .

So instead of being ungrateful because others like myself do what you’re incapable of say thank you and be fucking grateful.

Because those that fail the will to act or coward when it calls to testify your life . Alpha always will take a stand and never back down protecting their pack either in Life or Death.

“Strong survive and the weak will perish , Strongest that do persevere will be seared with the deepest scars. ”

    • Nicely put! Yes, people make very strong promises, but until their actions confirm this, I try not to count on people. And thanks for your message – what a shame to miss out on the rugby clinic! 😃

      • No worries I have my own back it was me that got myself through the belly of Hell because when I did try to confide in someone for help . I was told to stop telling stories that night I cringing in agonizing realizing that thought me seeing the morning would never come because I would be murder by the one that gave you life and that is all “it” did for me.

Some should never ever be fucking caregiver or nurtured !

  4. The only power others have over us we have given them. Like planting the seed to let it grow turn that power into your favor and them think all the while it was them.
